Shades or blinds

Often, both words are used interchangeably, but they are very different products. A window blind often referred to as a “hard” treatment, is composed of slats of wood, vinyl, or metal. They can be raised and lowered but they can also be tilted to allow varying degrees of light to come through. Window shades, on the other hand, are typically made of a single piece of soft material — hence they are called “soft” treatments. Some shades are more or less opaque, but they must be raised or lowered to be put into use. Which you choose rests largely on the mood you wish to set in the room.

Energy efficiency

A great deal of heat enters your home through your windows in the summer time. Also, you often can lose heat through your windows in the winter. Blinds and shades are an effective way of managing the heat entry and heat loss. Some of our products are designed with hollow cells in the middle, allowing them to trap air inside, keeping the warmer air where you want it, and the cooler air where it belongs.
